Leonard has focused his practice on Real Estate Law, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Probate, and bankruptcy. As a well known and respected attorney, Leonard has been a Special Judge in Shelby County General Sessions Court for the last ten years.

Working in association with Brett Bernard and Glenn Greene, Leonard provides advice & assistance to RMC regarding the legal issues surrounding loss mitigation.

Brett Bernard – Managing Partner

Brett manages short sale, mortgage deficiency, and wrongful foreclosure cases for RMC.

A native of Louisiana, Brett was a real estate developer with years of successful development projects in southern Louisiana. The devastation of Hurricane Katrina forced Brett to relocate to Memphis, the home of his wife, Tracy.

With the beginning of the recession of 2008, Brett recognized the need for a firm to assist struggling homeowners who were seeking to sell their now unaffordable homes in order to move on with their lives. With this in mind, Brett joined the Law Firm of Leonard Van Eaton in early 2009 where RMC was founded.

Realizing that most of these homeowners owed more on their homes than they were worth, Brett focused RMC on short sales and deficiency negotiation. However, as RMC developed a successful track record, more homeowners began to ask RMC for assistance in keeping their homes. This led Brett to broaden the focus of RMC to include loan modifications under the governments HAMP program, traditional modification, deed-in-lieu, and forbearance. Since its inception, RMC has managed over 450 cases with an exceptional success rate in avoiding foreclosure.

As a founder of RMC, Brett has been instrumental in developing the proprietary processes and techniques utilized by RMC in successfully negotiating loss mitigation cases for our clients. In addition, Brett has been in the forefront of the efforts to successfully challenge banks in their attempts to foreclose on homeowners in violation of the U.S. Treasury guidelines.

Brett is also Chairman of the Board for the Sober House, a local Memphis charity providing food, clothing and homes for needy families. He is host of the "CounterPoint" radio show which is broadcast every Saturday from 10am to 12 noon on 87.7 FM, 1210 AM and on the internet at www.wmpsthepoint.com

Brett served as City Councilman and Mayor of Grand Ledge, MI from 1993-1997.
